Jimmy Snuggerud is finally joining the St. Louis Blues.

St. Louis announced Friday that it has signed Snuggered to a three-year, entry-level contract and that the University of Minnesota captain will practice with the team on Monday.

Snuggered was drafted 23rd overall by the Blues in 2022.

The 20-year-old right-shot forward made the decision last April to return to the Gophers for his junior season in 2024-25, citing “unfinished business” after an early exit from the Frozen Four.

Snuggerud was given the ‘C’ in Minnesota and led the team with 24 goals, 27 assists and 51 points overall in 40 games. He earned Big Ten First Team All-Star honours for the second straight season and was a Top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA’s top player.

The Gophers were knocked out early in this year’s Frozen Four again, though, losing out to the University of Massachusetts in a first-round overtime thriller. Snuggered had two goals in the loss.

Snuggered also suited up for the United States at the world juniors, scoring five goals in six games.
